February is here and that means it's time to celebrate the special people in our lives with Valentine's flowers, teddy bears and sweets. But what many don't know is that February also kicks off American Heart Month! It's a time to raise awareness and increase knowledge about prevention of cardiovascular disease. A perfect time to educate yourself on the dangers of heart disease and get on track to better heart health. Make today the day you jump start your road to a healthy heart. What better gift to give your loved ones than many more healthy years together.


Here's some tips on what you need to do to reduce your risk:

*Quit smoking

*Control high blood pressure

*Get active

*Follow a heart-healthy diet

*Maintain a healthy weight

*Control diabetes

*Manage stress and anger
